Bobble Trivet

This square bobble stitch trivet works up very thick and is a great hot pad for pots, pans and dishes. They can be made in multiple colors for stripes or two color for a color block look. Make some up in seasonal colors to have a holiday accessory all year long. A gifting tip is to give them with a premade baking mix or cook book.


MATERIALS

6 mm/J-10

Paintbox Recycled Cotton [Color String]

Scissors

Measuring Tape


AMOUNT OF YARN

4.3 ounces/ 209yards

122 grams/ 191 meters


FINISHED SIZE

8 ½” x 8 ½ ”or 22 cm x 22 cm


GUAGE

2"x2"/ 10 CM x 10 CM= 6 single crochet stitches x 5 single crochet stitches

PATTERN

Chain 23

Row 1: Single crochet in second chain from hook and in each chain across. (22)

Row 2: Chain 1, turn, bobble stitch in the first stitch, single crochet in next stitch. Repeat bobble stitch, single crochet across. (22)

Row 3: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each stitch across. (22)

Row 4-22: Repeat rows 2 and 3.

Measure hot pad to make sure it'd square. Add a row if necessary.


Border

Slip stitch around project. There should be 22 stitches along each side. In each corner slip stitch, chain one and slip stitch again. This will make the corners nice and square.


Finish off with an invisible join.
