These durable cleaning scrubbies can be used for dishes or laundry. The nylon textured yarn makes them great for rubbing out stains with a little bit of laundry detergent or scrubbing off stuck on grease and grime from pots and pans.

There are many types of "scrubby" yarn out there, but my favorite for these is the one listed below, Scrubology Yarn from Hobby Lobby.

MATERIALS

Scrubology Yarn from Hobby Lobby, Bright Pink

6.5mm crochet hook/K-10.5

Scissors

FINISHED SIZE

3.5"/ 9cm diameter

HELPFUL LINKS

- How to make a slip knot and chain.

- How to single crochet.

NOTES

  • If the scrubbie is curling a lot when you are making it, size up your crochet hook.

PATTERN Chain 3. Slip stitch in first chain to create a ring.

Helpful tip: I like to keep my middle finger and thumb on the center of the ring until I make a stitch or two in it. Otherwise it can be difficult to find the center.

Round 1: Chain 1, half double crochet through center of circle 10 times. Slip stitch in top of first stitch to join. (10)

Round 2: Chain 1, 2 single crochet in first stitch and in each stitch around. Slip stitch in top first stitch to join. (20)

Round 3: Chain 1, 2 single crochet in first stitch, 1 single crochet in next stitch, repeat *2 single crochet, 1single crochet* around. Slip stitch in top of first stitch to join. (30)

Finish off with an invisible join.

Cut yarn, weave in ends. Carefully weave in end tail without pulling too hard. Pulling too hard will compress the invisible join stitch.

All set! They are ready to use :)
