Boho Wristlet Strap

An ad-free PDF pattern is available here on Etsy as well as here on Ravelry.

A video tutorial can be found here.

This fun little project is beginner-friendly. It uses only a couple of basic stitches. The soft, cotton, wristlet strap is machine washable and makes it comfortable to keep your keys "on-hand" or find them in your purse. Make them in seasonal colors to have a cute, handmade accessory any time of the year.

You can use this to carry your keys and keep your hands free, to hang your keys up when you get home, or clip them onto a summer swim bag. There are so many possibilities and once you start using one you won't ever want to be without it!

To work up this pattern you will need to know the single crochet and bobble stitches. A video tutorial on how to do the single crochet stitch can be found here. A video tutorial on how to make a bobble stitch can be found here.

MATERIALS

Materials:

Peaches ‘n Cream Cotton Yarn in Ecru

.4 ounces/20 yards

3.25 mm crochet hook

Scissors

GUAGE

2 square inches= 7 stitches and 8 rows

FINISHED SIZE

6½”x ¾” or 16.5cm x 2cm (Excluding Clasp)

NOTES

  • This pattern is written in US crochet terms.

  • Keeping loose tension for the chain stitch at the beginning of each row and blocking help to keep the strap from twisting.

  • A modified bobble stitch will be used instead of the standard bobble stitch (where 5 unfinished double crochets are made and then finished by pulling through 6 loops), make 3 unfinished double crochet, and finish by pulling through 4 loops. A video tutorial on how to make a bobble stitch can be found here.

To make the bobble:

  1. Yarn over, insert your hook into the stitch, and pull up a loop.

  2. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops.

  3. Repeat two more times, until you have 4 loops on your hook.

  4. Yarn over, pull through all 4 loops.

  5. When you single crochet into the next stitch your bobble will pop out the back.
