Lip Balm Holder Keychain

These functional keychains work up quickly and are a perfect last minute gift or great first project to . They are a perfect item to make and sell year round your local craft shows or on Etsy. MATERIALS

Hook: 3.5mm/E-4

Lily Sugar 'n Cream Cotton Yarn

.4 ounces / 12 grams, 19 yards / 17 meters

Scissors


FINISHED SIZE (Excluding Hardware)

3 ½” x 1½ ”or cm x cm


GUAGE

4"x4"/ 10 CM x 10 CM= 15 Rows x 13 SC

PATTERN

Chain 6


Row 1 : Single crochet in the second chain from hook and in each stitch across. (5)


Row 2: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first stitch and in each stitch across. (5)

Rows 3-21: Repeat row 2. After row the project should measure 5.5"/ 14 cm.


Row 22: Chain 1, turn, decrease over 1st and 2nd stitch, single crochet, decrease or last two stitches. (3)


Rows 23-27: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in the first stitch and each stitch across (3). After row 21 there should be the one row with decreases, and five rows of single crochet.


Finish off. Cut the yarn leaving a 16 inch tail for sewing.


Slide keychain clasp over the last few rows.


Fold row 27 over keychain clasp to meet row 23.

Sew rows together with 3 stitches across.


FLIP PROJECT OVER; seam will be on the back.


Fold first row up to row 27.

Use a whip stitch to sew side together.


Weave yarn through bottom row.


Whip stitch up other side.


Finish off. Weave in ends.


Attach to your keys, backpack, purse or diaper bag!
